Fact Checker:
At PublicSource, the fact checking process is very thorough. I was assigned stories by reporters (full-time or freelance) to fact-check for accuracy before they are published. The reporters send us the fact checkers materials from their reporting, i.e. interviews, transcripts, links to data/statistics or webpages. It all gets compiled in a spreadsheet. Line by line, we go through each sentence, verifying its accuracy, and if there are any discrepancies, we work it out with the reporters who wrote the piece.
Selves Newsletter Curation
Written By Me
Assisted on curating these other ‘Selves’ newsletters
I assisted the editor in chief of PublicSource with curating the Selves Newsletter. Each week I would do research of the most important stories relating to gender and identity and make up short sentences that intrigue audiences to a particular story.
